Max Gill was probably the finest pictorial map maker ever to grace this planet. Take a look at the detailed listing images and marvel at the level of detail that can be found in this map.
Most roads and towns within about 30 miles of London are shown - though, quite notably, there's not yet an M25 orbiting London. Most of the towns/locations in London's Zone 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are labelled, along with many commuter towns like Reigate, Leatherhead, Slough, Woking, Watford, St Albans, Caterham and more.
At the centre is... well, a rather splendid drawing of central London. Dotted around the maps are little interesting quotes and historical snippets, such as "There are some good brasses in the old church" at Farningham, or "Hiding place of Guy Fawkes" in Enfield.
All in all, this is one of the finest and most interesting maps of London and suburbs ever created.
In another twist, I also have a version of this map that is identical - except that it's the original black draft version.
This map looks great at all sizes from 12x16 inches (30x40cm), to 16x20 inches (40x50cm) and 24x36 inches (60x90cm). But it looks even better when printed large. I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 230 inches (6m, 20ft) wide. At this size wallpaper might be a good option, too. Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.
The model in the listing images is holding the 20x16 inch (50x40cm) version of this map.
This would make a wonderful birthday or Christmas gift for someone from London or its suburbs, or perhaps someone who likes the pictorial art deco style.
You can order the map itself, or you can order a framed version. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that really makes our maps pop out when on a wall. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame. We use super-clear acrylic (perspex/acrylite) in our frames - it's less reflective than glass and better for transport.

I use a unique process to restore my maps that is massively time consuming and labour intensive. Hunting down the original maps can take months. I use state of the art and eye-wateringly expensive technology to scan and restore the maps. As a result, I guarantee my maps are a cut above the rest - that's why I can offer a no-quibble refund.
Almost all of my maps look amazing at large sizes (200cm, 6.5ft+) and I can frame and deliver them to you as well, via special oversized courier. Contact me to discuss your specific needs.
