Handmade to order
Engraved by John Rapkin and published by J. Tallis & Co in 1851, this is one of the finest and most detailed historic maps of Plymouth, Stonehouse and Devonport that you can find from the peak of industrialised Victorian Britain.
You can order the map itself, or you can order a framed version. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that really makes our maps pop out when on a wall. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame, or if you'd like to frame one of the larger maps. We use super-clear acrylic (perspex/acrylite) in our frames - it's less reflective than glass and better for transport.
This map looks great at all sizes: 12x16 inches (30x40cm), 16x20 inches (40x50cm), 18x24 inches (45x60cm) and 24x36 (60x90cm) but it looks even better when printed large. I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 37x50 inches (100x125cm). Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.

I also have the original monochrome version of this map, if you prefer.
This map would make a great birthday or Christmas gift for someone from Plymouth, or who has the southwest in their heart.
Like a lot of the UK's oldest cities, Plymouth's street names and landmarks haven't changed much in the last 150 years - so it's nice to find your favourite street and imagine what it might've looked like all those years ago.
Around the edges of the map are detailed engravings of prominent buildings and vistas of Plymouth - click some of the detailed images to zoom in and marvel at their beauty.

I use a unique process to restore my maps that is massively time consuming and labour intensive. Hunting down the original maps can take months. I use state of the art and eye-wateringly expensive technology to scan and restore the maps. As a result, I guarantee my maps are a cut above the rest - that's why I can offer a no-quibble refund.
Almost all of my maps look amazing at large sizes (200cm, 6.5ft+) and I can frame and deliver them to you as well, via special oversized courier. Contact me to discuss your specific needs.
