The map proudly declares that it shows Santa Fe and 'the most wonderful fifty mile square in America', though it's not really clear who ever said that about Santa Fe.
Across the bottom of the map are details of the town's history and information about notable landmarks, such as "Petrified Forest near Cerrillos... some very good specimens of petrified trees may be seen here". Zoom into the listing images and take a look!
At the centre of the map is still San Francisco St, the Plaza, and of course the Palace of the Governors. The State Capitol is still there, down a few blocks.
The map also shows distances to other towns and landmarks outside of Santa Fe, some important dates (Santa Fe was originally founded in 1609 by the Spaniards, making it the oldest seat of government in the USA)... and more!
This map looks great at all sizes from 12x12 inches (30x30cm) to 16x16in (40x40cm) and beyond to larger sizes. It looks its best at larger sizes. I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 45 inches (115cm) wide. Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.
Please note that the 24x24 inch map has white edges. They are very easy to snip off with scissors. Or if you are planning to frame your map, these borders will help you with framing. All other sizes, including all framed maps, look exactly like the listing images.
The model in the listing images is holding the 16x16 inch (40x40cm) version of the map.
This would make a wonderful birthday or Christmas gift for someone from Sante Fe, New Mexico, or perhaps someone who has travelled or worked extensively in Sante Fe.
You can order the map itself, or you can order a framed version. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that really makes the map pop out when on a wall. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame. I use super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite) in my frames - it's less reflective than glass and better for transport.
