Handmade to order
This is a rather unusual map of Scotland's geological (rock) and palaeontological (fossil) regions. What's even more unusual is that it was created a long time ago in 1854, engraved by A.K. Johnston from the notes and recordings of Edward Forbes.
The natural size for this map is 16x20 inches (40x50cm), but it looks great at every size all the way up to 70 inches (178cm) wide. The unframed 24x30 inch map has white edges that can easily be snipped off (or they may help you with framing!)
You can order the map itself, or you can order a framed version. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that really makes our maps pop out when on a wall. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame. We use super-clear acrylic (perspex/acrylite) in our frames - it's less reflective than glass and better for transport. Please contact me if you would like to frame one of the larger prints for a custom order.
This is a lovely, highly detailed map that would look great on any wall - and it would make a lovely gift, too. A full colour map like this, particularly of this subject matter, is unusual from the 1850s.

I use a unique process to restore my maps that is massively time consuming and labour intensive. Hunting down the original maps can take months. I use state of the art and eye-wateringly expensive technology to scan and restore the maps. As a result, I guarantee my maps are a cut above the rest - that's why I can offer a no-quibble refund.
Almost all of my maps look amazing at large sizes (200cm, 6.5ft+) and I can frame and deliver them to you as well, via special oversized courier. Contact me to discuss your specific needs.
