It also has a few historically interesting features. In the top left corner, for example, in Fort Lawton (now Discovery Park), you can see that they planned to reclaim some land from the Puget Sound and build a bunch of streets there. This never happened, of course.
This map also shows Lake Washington Canal during its construction, which took a rather long time (from 1911 to 1934).
For the most part, this map of Seattle looks very like a modern map of Seattle - just with the suburbs a little less developed. The map spans all the way from North Park (now called Northgate) at the top, to Southpark in the south. Mercer Island (here called East Seattle) can be seen on the right side of the map. And of course, there's Lake Washington and the Puget Sound - and the city center Downtown in the middle.
Inset in the bottom left corner is a small map to help you understand the 'system of street designations' in Seattle.

This map looks great at all sizes from 12x18 inches (30x45cm), to 16x20 inches (40x50cm) and 24x36 inches (60x90cm). But it looks even better when printed large. I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 60 inches (150cm) wide. Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.
The model in the listing images is holding the 24x36 inch (60x90cm) version of this map.
This would make a wonderful birthday or Christmas gift for someone from Seattle, who lives there today, or someone who has worked or travelled there extensively.
You can order the map itself, or you can order a framed version. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that really makes the map pop out when on a wall. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame. I use super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite) in my frames - it's less reflective than glass and better for transport.
