Almost all of my maps look amazing at large sizes (2m+) and I can frame them. Contact me to discuss your specific needs.
This is a rare, handcoloured map of the Roman Empire from 1626 by the most famous cartographer of his time, John Speed. The map shows the Roman Empire at its largest, spanning all the way from the British Isles to North Africa to Assyria (modern-day Iraq/Iran).
At the bottom of the map is a 'short declaration' of the beginning, increase and height of the Roman Empire - or at least, as far as John Speed understood it in 1626.
This map looks fantastic at all sizes, from 12x16 inches (30x40cm) all the way through to 24x36 inches (60x90cm) and beyond. I can print massive versions of this map at sizes up to 2 meters (80 inches).
Get in touch if you're looking for larger, or large framed maps. I use super-clear museum-grade perspex in my frames - it's less reflective than glass and better for transport.
This Roman world map would make a perfect gift for someone who loves to travel or explore, or a history buff, or it would look great as wall art on your own walls! It's a beautiful piece of wall art that would make a good housewarming gift.
All of my maps are well packaged and sent in a rugged tube if unframed, or surrounded by foam if framed.
I try to send out all maps within 1 or 2 days of receiving your order, though some products (like face masks or mugs) can take longer to make.
If you select the free worldwide shipping option, you can usually expect to receive your map around 10 days after you order. It may be faster or slower, depending on the impact of coronavirus in your country.
If you select Express Delivery at checkout your order will be sent by courier (Fedex, DHL, UPS, Parcelforce) and will usually arrive in 2-3 days.
Customers in the US, Australia and Canada: Your map will be sent from a printer or framer in your country, which means you'll get your map sooner, you won't pay import duties, and we'll put less CO2 into the atmosphere. I have worked with some great printers and framers around the world for years - so don't worry, your map will still look amazing!
My maps are extremely high quality reproductions of original maps.
I source original, extremely rare maps from libraries, auction houses and private collections around the world, restore them at my London workshop, and then use specialist giclée inks and printers to create beautiful maps that look even better than the original.
My maps are printed on thick matte (not glossy) paper that feels high quality. In technical terms the paper weight/thickness is 10mil/190gsm. It's perfect for framing.
Please contact me if you're looking for a print on canvas or cotton rag.
