This is a designer face mask / neck gaiter featuring a rather unusual map of Scotland's geological (rock) and palaeontological (fossil) regions. What's even more unusual is that it was created a long time ago in 1854, engraved by A.K. Johnston from the notes and recordings of Edward Forbes.

This face shield can be used as a headband, bandana, balaclava, wristband or neck warmer. This is not a medical grade face mask, but it could still help prevent the spread of coronavirus/covid-19 if you wear it when you go outside.

This is a lovely, highly detailed map that creates a really unique face mask / neck gaiter that would make a great gift for someone who lives in or likes Scotland. A full colour map like this, particularly of this subject matter, is unusual from the 1850s.

We also have a larger map of England and Wales from the same collection by Johnston, if you are interested in that.

The face mask is:
- 95% polyester, 5% elastane (fabric composition may vary by 1%)
- Fabric weight: 6.19 oz/yd² (210 g/m²)
- Breathable fabric
- Washable and reusable
- Four-way stretch fabric that stretches and recovers on the cross and lengthwise grains
- One size
- Printed on one side, reverse side is left blank

All of my maps are well packaged and sent in a rugged tube if unframed, or surrounded by foam if framed.

I try to send out all maps within 1 or 2 days of receiving your order, though some products (like face masks or mugs) can take longer to make.

If you select the free worldwide shipping option, you can usually expect to receive your map around 10 days after you order. It may be faster or slower, depending on the impact of coronavirus in your country.

If you select Express Delivery at checkout your order will be sent by courier (Fedex, DHL, UPS, Parcelforce) and will usually arrive in 2-3 days.

Customers in the US, Australia and Canada: Your map will be sent from a printer or framer in your country, which means you'll get your map sooner, you won't pay import duties, and we'll put less CO2 into the atmosphere. I have worked with some great printers and framers around the world for years - so don't worry, your map will still look amazing!
