If the delivery address is outside the UK, I will print and frame the map outside of the UK. I have local production facilities in 22 countries.
This is great for gifting. For example, you can buy a map for someone in Singapore, and I'll make and deliver the map locally in Singapore with no tax or duty to be paid by the recipient.

Quelle taille dois-je acheter ?
Si vous avez l'espace et le budget, je vous recommande d'acheter une carte de 16 x 20 pouces (40 x 50 cm) ou plus. La plupart des cartes sont plus belles dans des tailles plus grandes en raison de la grande quantité de détails qu'elles contiennent.
Lorsque vous achetez la plus petite taille (généralement 12 pouces ou 30 cm), le texte peut être assez petit. je recommande me contacter si vous voulez vous assurer qu'une carte est belle à une taille spécifique. Je répondrai généralement dans quelques minutes.
Certaines cartes mentionnent une « meilleure taille ». Dans ce cas, la carte contient généralement des étiquettes très difficiles à lire dans des tailles plus petites.

Acheter des cartes non encadrées
Si vous m'achetez une ancienne carte non encadrée et envisagez de l'encadrer vous-même, veuillez lire cette page pour obtenir des informations importantes sur le cadrage de votre carte.
Directives générales de taille
Généralement, la taille que vous voyez sur la boutique est exactement exacte.
Ainsi, par exemple, si vous achetez une carte de 18 x 24 pouces, vous devriez acheter un cadre qui « s'adapte aux œuvres d'art » de 18 x 24 pouces. Si vous commandez une carte de 60 x 90 cm, vous devez acheter un cadre adapté aux œuvres d'art de 60 x 90 cm.
Si vous voyez une carte d'une taille inhabituelle, comme 24 x 11 pouces (ou 61 x 29 cm), je vous recommande fortement d'attendre que la carte arrive avant de créer ou de commander un cadre en ligne. Ces cartes peuvent varier en taille de quelques millimètres, et c'est très frustrant si elles ne rentrent pas dans votre cadre !

Grandes cartes
S'il te plaît Contactez moi si vous envisagez d'encadrer vous-même une grande carte (plus de 40 pouces ou 100 cm).
Si vous achetez votre propre cadre, je vous recommande d'attendre l'arrivée du cadre, de confirmer la taille interne du cadre, puis de m'indiquer la taille exacte dont vous avez besoin. Mesurez la largeur et la hauteur de la planche à l'arrière du cadre pour obtenir une mesure précise.
Vous pouvez également m'acheter la carte, la mesurer à son arrivée, puis commander un cadre adapté.
Pour les grandes cartes, je peux personnaliser gratuitement la taille de votre carte.
Si vous apportez votre carte à un encadreur local, celui-ci mesurera la carte pour vous, puis adaptera le cadre.

Custom map sizes are available
At The Unique Maps Co., every order is processed and made by hand. There is no mass production and every map is custom made to order.
This means that I can tailor your map so that it perfectly fits a space on your wall, or a frame that you already own.
To order a custom sized map, select the size closest to what you need, and then select 'customise the size?' from the options below.
Custom sizing is free for large maps over 100cm or 40 inches, but for smaller maps there will be an additional small fee.

Steeped in rich history, Surrey's past can be fascinatingly traced through its settlements. This 1844 map includes places that were thriving before 1840, some of which have transformed significantly or even changed names. Conversely, you might find an absence of some modern-day settlements that were yet to be founded or recognised. This creates an exciting opportunity for historical discovery and comparison.
Settlements
(in order of modern-day population size):- London (43 AD): Established by the Romans as Londinium, it was an important commercial town and the provincial capital.
- Guildford (c. 970 AD): Home to a Royal Mint from the reign of King Alfred until the time of William the Conqueror.
- Woking (c. 1086 AD): Noted in the Domesday Book as Wochinges, it was held by King William.
- Ewell (before 775 AD): Known for its Roman remains, including a villa and bath house.
- Camberley (c. 1200 AD): Historically part of an area known as Bagshot Heath, famed for highwaymen in the 17th century.
- Redhill (c. 1818 AD): Originally a staging post on the London to Brighton road during the 18th century.
- Reigate (c. 1088 AD): Home to Reigate Castle, believed to have been established shortly after the Norman Conquest.
- Staines-upon-Thames (c. 100 AD): A historic market town that was once the site of a Roman bridge.

This map looks great at all sizes: 8x10in (20.5x25.5cm), 12x16in (30.5x41cm), 18x24in (45.5x61cm), 16x20in (40.5x51cm), 24x36in (61x91.5cm), 30x40in (76x101.5cm) and 37x50in (94x127cm), but it looks even better when printed large.

This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that suits most aesthetics. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.

Canvas old maps are an interesting alternative to conventionally framed maps. Depending on your personal taste and room decor, canvas maps can "pop" a bit more than a framed map.

Je dispose d'imprimeries et d'encadrements spécialisés dans 17 pays à travers le monde. Mes cartes sont des reproductions de très haute qualité de cartes originales.
Je me procure des cartes originales extrêmement rares auprès de bibliothèques, de maisons de vente aux enchères et de collections privées du monde entier, je les restaure dans mon atelier londonien, puis j'utilise des encres et des imprimantes giclées spécialisées pour créer de superbes cartes dont l'aspect est encore meilleur que celui de l'original.
Mes cartes sont imprimées sur du papier d'archives mat (non brillant) sans acide, de très haute qualité au toucher, presque comme du carton. En termes techniques, le poids/épaisseur du papier est de 10mil/190gsm. Il est parfait pour être encadré.
J'imprime avec des encres pigmentaires Epson ultrachrome giclée résistantes à la décoloration par UV - les meilleures encres que l'on puisse trouver.

Personnalisation des cartes
