This wonderful old map of Sardinia and Corsica was originally published in 1786. It was created by Louis Charles Desnos.
Known in Italian as Sardegna, Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and is located to the west of mainland Italy. It's widely known for its beaches, clear sea and coasts.
In the 18th century, however, the island was part of the Kingdom of Piedmont, later becoming the Kingdom of Sardinia, and it wasn't until 1861 that Italy was unified.
This map looks great at all sizes: 10x10 inches (25x25cm), 12x12in (31x31cm), 14x14 inches (36x36cm), 16x16in (41x41cm), 18x18in (46x46cm), 24x24 inches (61x61cm), 36x36 inches (92x92cm), 45x45 inches (114.5x114.5cm), 50x50 inches (127x127cm) and 60x60 inches (152.5x152.5cm), but it looks even better when printed large.
I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 70in (178cm). Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.
The model in the listing images is holding the 18x18in (46x46cm) version of this map.
The fifth listing image shows an example of my map personalisation service.
Please note the unframed 24x24 inches (61x61cm) map has white edges around the map. These edges can help you with framing, or if you don’t need them they are very easy to snip off with scissors. All other maps, including the framed maps, look exactly like the listing images.
If you’re looking for something slightly different, another option would be this amazing map of Sicily by Wilhelm Fritzsche in 1893.
The locations on this map include: Sassari, Cagliari, Porto-Vecchio, Bastia, Oristano, Pula, Ajaccio, Bonifacio and Alghero.

This would make a wonderful birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, work leaving or housewarming gift for someone interested in Sardinia and Corsica or has these Italian islands close to their heart.
This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that suits most aesthetics. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.
