This wonderful old map of Paris and the Paris Métro was originally published in 1920. It was created by Robelin.
This map focuses on both the landmarks and the Métro rail network. In 1920, Paris's underground rail network had two constituent parts - the Nord-Sud lines in blue, and the Metropolitan in red. The Nord-Sud was eventually incorporated into the metro and today are lines 12 and 13.
You can see detailed illustrations of the famous landmarks that are dotted around Paris, such as the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, Hotel-de-Ville, and Arc De Triomphe. You can also see the many suburbs on the map surrounding the city of Paris, such as Le Pre St Gervais, Vanves, and Levallois-Perret.
Next to the Equestrian Statue of Henri IV is the Pont des Arts bridge, which was once where tourists attached "love locks," linking personalised locks to the bridge and throwing the keys away as a symbol of their love for one another.
This map looks great at all sizes: 12x16in (30.5x41cm), 16x20in (40.5x51cm), 18x24in (45.5x61cm), 24x36in (61x91.5cm), 32x40in (81.5x102cm), 40x50in (102x127cm), 48x60in (122x153cm) and 56x70in (142x178cm), but it looks even better when printed large.
I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 120in (305cm). Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.

If you’re looking for something slightly different, another option would be this amazing map of Paris and the Paris Métro by Gaillac-Monrocq in 1934.

This would make a wonderful birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, work leaving or housewarming gift for someone interested in Paris and the Paris Métro or a charming vintage souvenir from the City of Love.
This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that suits most aesthetics. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.
