This wonderful old map of the history of World War 2 was originally published in 1945. It was created by Edwin Sundberg.
An informative and colourful map of World War 2, five years into the conflict. Edwin Sundberg created this map, titled "3 Years of War", which visually sums up United States involvement over three years.
On the map, you can see the areas occupied by the Allies and Axis, as well as naval bases occupied by the USA. As you can clearly see, this map is meant to show just how much of the world is covered by Allied forces.
Major events since America joined WW2 can be seen at the bottom of the map, including the attack on Pearl Harbour, which led President Franklin to declare war on Japan, which the Germans retaliated to by declaring war on the United States.
This map looks great at all sizes: 18x12, 18x24in (45.5x61cm), 24x36in (61x91.5cm), 30x45in (76x114.5cm), 33x50in (84x127cm), 40x60in (102x153cm) and 47x70in (120x178cm), but it looks even better when printed large.
I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 80in (203cm). Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.

This would make a wonderful birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, work leaving or housewarming gift for someone interested in the history of World War 2 or key historical events of the 20th century.
This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that suits most aesthetics. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.
