I use a unique process to restore my maps that is massively time consuming and labour intensive. Hunting down the original maps can take months. I use state of the art and eye-wateringly expensive technology to scan and restore the maps. As a result, I guarantee my maps are a cut above the rest - that's why I can offer a no-quibble refund.
Almost all of my maps look amazing at large sizes (200cm, 6.5ft+) and I can frame and deliver them to you as well, via special oversized courier. Contact me to discuss your specific needs.
This is a map I have longed to own it answer my continual question to myself of “
What lies beneath”?
I was really excited to get William Smith's Map. This map can be seen on the staircase of the Geological Society in Piccadilly, London - but that is a little far to go, especially in these Covid times.
And we should all spare a thought for the neglected William Smith. The book "The map that changed the world" by Simon Winchester is a great read and makes amends to some extent.
I am writing a book aboutCharles Darwin and Charles Lyell. Charles Lyell was President of the Geological Society of London in 1836 when Darwin came back on HMS Beagle, and he became great mates with Darwin. But as far as I can tell Darwin never knew of William Smith. This was because the previous President of the Society, George Greenough had produced his own map of the geological strata of England, Wales and Scotland, plagiarising Smith's map along the way.
Later, the wonderful work of Smith was acknowledged by the Geological Society but only after all the main characters were dead!
Wonderful map and great quality print. It came in good time and Sebastian is extremely helpful and very responsive if needed. I will definitely be buying more maps in the future!
